The "Read, Swap, Create!" Book Exchange Drive for Grade 4 students was a memorable event designed to blend the joy of reading with elements of creativity and personal expression. Each student participated by bringing a favourite book from home, one they were willing to share with their peers. This simple act of sharing introduced students to a non-economic activity, where the excitement of exchanging books went beyond material value. Before the swap, each student carefully crafted a review or recommendation, highlighting why the book was meaningful to them and what other readers might look forward to discovering within its pages.

This experience fostered a unique sense of voice, choice, and ownership, allowing students to select a book that truly reflected their tastes and interests. The drive encouraged open-mindedness as students explored books they might not have chosen themselves, broadening their horizons through diverse genres and perspectives. Thinking skills were enhanced as they reflected on their reading experiences and considered how best to share those insights with classmates.

The exchange created a vibrant environment where creativity was celebrated not just in the books themselves, but in the thoughtful recommendations each student shared. Students eagerly listened to each other's reviews, building a sense of community and excitement around reading. By the end of the drive, they walked away with new books to enjoy, deeper friendships, and a lasting appreciation for the joys of sharing stories and ideas.
