Science has a profound impact on our lives. It plays a crucial role in shaping our world and improving various aspects of our daily lives. Science has contributed to advancements in medicine, technology, communication, transportation, and more. It has improved our quality of life by providing us with better healthcare, efficient transportation systems, instant access to information, and innovative solutions to challenges. Science has also fostered our understanding of the world around us and fueled our curiosity, leading to new discoveries and innovations.
This is why Pathways School Gurgaon hosts the Corridor Science event in the DPCP space. So that we all get a chance to share the Science we learn about. To apply it in real life and to express the enthusiasm and curiosity of budding scientists. This week's Corridor Science specialized in Chemistry, where we had various aspects and reactions in place. Each way your head would turn would be one DP-2 student showcasing the results one would get by reacting simple substances we see in our daily life with chemicals to create a wonderous product.
As we were taken through all the different aspects where Chemistry was applied, we saw Antariksh Verma testing the dehydration of sugar causing an explosive reaction, as well as making fire through liquid with the oxidation of potassium permanganate. We saw Anuva Bhandari and Charuta Arora show how with just a few physical substances we can change the color of a flame. Finally, we were shown the true extent to how fire can form with the help of the ‘Woosh Bottle’ experiment conducted by Abhyuthan Srivastava which concluded this presentation with a loud bang.
Overall, Corridor Science is an important part of the DPCP culture as it allows us to show our interests and love for science with our entire community.
