The camps to Abhinari were a thrilling experience for us all! It was not only a journey that enlightened us, but one that strengthened the bond between students. When we entered the camp, a beautiful beat was played, and we were greeted warmly. Our tents could accommodate four people.
Many of us were grouped with those of other sections which strengthened our communication skills. Every day, we were given exciting adventure that made us giddy for the next! One that we can all agree was a thrilling experience was Adventure games. Of course, we were given precautions before we began for our own safety. After the instructions were clear, we went ziplining and our heartbeat quickened due to the thrilling experience! We also climbed ropes and did a parkour which left us overjoyed. We also were introduced to Abhinari’s beautiful sights when we went camel riding. We students were enthralled and curious to what the different plants in the area were! We stopped at a steep cliff and admired the beauty. On the third day, we all did yoga which calmed us down and helped us get more fit as well as loosen our muscles- an important thing to do before we start our day ahead!
Along with all these activities, we also did exercises and team- building games which were quite exciting! We also created scented candles, topped off with our own designs, pottery wherein we created our clay sculpture, bangle- making where we could tell a professional bangle maker the bangles which we would like! We had a gala time! Finally, we did service action. We went to a school in Abhinari and distributed Juice boxes and biscuits- But that’s not all! We helped by painting the school walls and decorating the floors and the students at the school were delighted with their newly- painted school!
At last, we had a party which could not be completed without traditional Abhinari music and dance. We all had an amazing time, completed with dancing and laughing, celebrating the joyous memories we had in the camps!
At the end of the day, we all enjoyed the camps. We all enhanced our IB skills, communicating with our peers, developing thinking skills, where in we thought and nurtured for others. Of course, Self-Management skills which played a vital part in our camps experience.
Staying without our parents made us much more self- aware and independent- an important lesson I learnt from camps.
