Each year Diwali falls upon students like a light in the dark days, commencing the autumn break of the year. Right before the festival of lights this year, the students were graced by a humorous performance by the teachers of the DP/CP space due to the joyous occasion of children’s day and Diwali itself. 

The assembly started off in the most reverential manner; a multitude of faculty members formed an amalgam of cultures, from Christianity to Sikhism, and they shared how Diwali was akin to and dichotomized from their own culture. There was also a choir of teachers, and their singing motivated students at the end of another tiring day, further allowing them to enrich their learning with a beautiful song from the culture of Eastern India.  

Apart from being an illuminating celebration, the roleplays done by the teachers proved their mastery of mirth. The faculty played the roles of certain students with impeccable finesse and better than the teenagers could ever play themselves, if asked to. After all, teachers do know their students the best. The celebration was further elevated when the students got to witness the incredible dance moves of their teachers and their efforts had a lot of faces beaming with smiles.  

To conclude, the afternoon was filled with cultural learnings, inside jokes and compelling performances. It was a true phenomenon for students to experience an overturn of roles for a day organized solely by the teachers.
