In the past two weeks, Student Counsellors are actively engaging PYP 4 learners in  orientations for 'Student Council Posts and Responsibilities'. The process involves a holistic approach aimed at empowering them to make informed choices while fostering leadership skills. Through introspection and reflection, students are encouraged to identify their passions and strengths, aligning them with the roles and responsibilities of the Student Council. By revisiting their Skill Mapping forms and reflecting on past actions, students gained insight into their abilities and areas for growth. This process equiped them with the confidence to self-nominate or support peer nominations based on their individual capabilities and aspirations. Students gained deeper insight into the importance of effective communication, commitment, self-regulation, collaboration, and decision-making in fulfilling these roles. The session cultivated a sense of agency and ownership in students, enabling them to actively contribute to their school community while pursuing their interests and passions. Through this orientation process, PYP 4 students felt empowered to take on leadership roles with clarity, purpose, and a commitment to making positive impacts.
