Have you ever struggled with your mental health? Have you ever felt as if you’re all alone with no one to talk to, sympathize with, and understand?

Mental health, the issue that plagues our past, present, and most probably, our future, is one of the most prevalent issues in our school in today’s time, nestled and fostered by the need for academic and social validation, constant pressurizing, and the shackles imposed onto students by their social, mental, and academical expectations. Beyond just impacting students mentally, it interferes with their behavior in classes, reactions and attitude, and their academic and physical state. It is truly alarming to see the number of students that suffer from stress, anxiety, and other such mental illnesses, and yet are unable to seek help due to their own lack of self-awareness. It is vital to ensure that students are aware of the degrading states of mental well-being and the importance of working upon it and improving, to help ensure a better quality of life for our peers and those that are around them, which is exactly what this blog aims to do.

To help further understand the very issue of a negative mental state, it is important to acknowledge and understand the factors that contribute towards it. One of the primary causes of stress and anxiety amongst students is academic pressure, put upon students from their parents, or their own need for academic validation from their teachers and fellow classmates and peers. Beyond this, social interaction and the pressure placed upon students to “fit in” to be considered “cool” and a part of a certain group can help considerably in the development health issues like depression and anxiety. The results of these mental illnesses can be reflected on all spheres of the victim’s life, be that their academic practice or their social behavior. They tend grow more withdrawn and partake less in social events or grow careless and reckless towards the impacts of their actions. In terms of academics, they typically grow distracted and begin putting in less effort into their studies. It is vital to understand and recognize these signs to help those that may be suffering from mental health illnesses.

Taking care of your mental health should be one of your utmost top priorities! Our mental health is shaped by many factors like, our mindset and thought process, the society, our friends and most importantly us. The navigators of our well-being, it is important to understand that every small to big decision we take impacts our lives majorly, from what to eat for dinner to shifting countries. Every step has its own impact on our well-being, especially mentally, taking time for us to understand, adapt and live. In the valleys of mental health, challenges may arise that test our resilience and resolve. These valleys represent moments of struggle, where the path forward may seem unclear, and the weight of emotions feels overwhelming. But strategies like following our vision, meditating, having a broader mindset may help us in feeling happier and positive.

So, take a deep breath, and fasten your seatbelts our dear traveller, know that this ocean will not be easy to cross from a regular airplane, but it might cross from your airplane, build your path the way you want because if you don’t, your mental health can get impacted majorly. It is crucial for you to know that you are not alone in this journey! together, with our friends and family, let’s discover the peaks and valleys of mental health with courage, compassion, and unwavering determination.
