There's a nostalgic truth in Winnie the Pooh's words, “We didn’t realize we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.” This sentiment encapsulates the introspective and reminiscing thoughts of DP 2 students on Scribble Day, held on April 2, 2024. This day was a bittersweet experience for the DP family, encompassing not only the graduating batch but also the teachers, our unsaid heroes whose unwavering support, wisdom, and dedication have been the backbone of every student’s journey.

The celebration kicked off with a series of fun activities designed to lighten the mood and momentarily distract everyone from the impending blend of anticipation and sorrow. DP 2 was on the brink of parting from their second home, one that extended beyond mere physical confines, encompassing a realm of relentless math queries, persistent TOK redrafts, reminders of IA deadlines, and the occasional uniform check. These walls bore witness to the growth, struggles, and triumphs of our seniors throughout their DP journey. As we engaged in these games, laughter filled the air, serving as a temporary respite before the inevitable farewells.

The first activity was a lively round of song association, pitting teams of three random DP 2 students against three teachers in a battle of musical wit. It began with some offbeat words like "tangerine" (courtesy of MD’s creativity), but soon transitioned to more familiar, song-related ones. After several rounds of quick thinking and a delightful performance by our very own Mr. Kshitiz, we smoothly shifted gears just before anyone could suggest "Baby" by Justin Bieber.

The next item on the agenda was dumb charades, which called for two teams of three students and teachers each. In this game, participants had to act out the name of a movie, providing hints only about its language, era of release, and the number of words in its title. It was an enjoyable experience trying to decipher the meaning behind the hand movements and gestures as we eagerly attempted to guess the movie titles.

To proceed, an unprecedented event unfolded in PSG history: an impromptu, real-life adaptation of the beloved game, Guess Who? With spirited competition between sections ABC and DEFG of DP 2, each team embarked on a quest to identify the mystery person of the opposing team. Adhering to the rules of the board game, participants exchanged yes or no answers to systematically narrow down their guesses. This lively activity provided a unique opportunity for reflection and camaraderie among classmates. As they delved into deciphering each other's identities, they not only showcased their determination to win but also reveled in the friendships and connections that define their grade. It was a heartwarming experience, allowing them to appreciate and recall the distinctive quirks and traits of their peers.

As the time arrived, the floor opened for the main event of Scribble Day: immortalizing memories onto t-shirts, destined to be cherished by the batch for decades to come. Whether reminiscing from a college dorm halfway across the globe or recalling their school years when in adulthood, these shirts would serve as tangible reminders of the special moments that shaped them into who they are. Observing students and even teachers scribbling messages onto their shirts filled me with a profound sense of belonging. Nevertheless, amidst the exhilaration for what lies ahead, a wave of melancholy washed over me as I realized that things would never be quite the same again. For some who had spent their formative years here, when coloring and napping were the highlights of our days (the latter probably still is), the thought of graduating evoked a poignant mix of emotions. Yet, regardless of when they joined the PSG community, those scribbles would forever remain etched onto their shirts and in their hearts.

I extend my heartfelt wishes to the graduating batch as they embark on their final examinations. As they prepare to venture into their bright futures, I hope they will always be reminded of and drawn back home to PSG, no matter where life may take them.
