Election Process for Student Council

The student council election experience is akin to embarking on an adventure, from the daunting experience of submitting the self-nomination form to the much-anticipated results day. This expedition of self-discovery and resilience sheds light on leadership and the responsibility accompanying the roles.? 

The election process commenced with a self-nomination form, a crucial step that reflected the candidates’ willingness to lead. Then, the interview round unfolded. The sitting DP2 council accompanied our teachers in assessing the students’ suitability for the respective positions, interrogating the candidates with challenging questions. Following that was the all-new face-to-face round! 

Candidates engaged in enrapturing panel discussions wherein the student body posed questions relating to important topics. This segment allowed participants to share their understanding of vaping addiction, AI usage, academic integrity, inclusivity, and more. As a novel facet of the election process, the face-to-face aided in evaluating candidates’ critical thinking, improvisation, and communication skills. 

Finally, we had reached election day! The excitement and suspense were at an all-time high, broken only by the results being announced by our School Director. Celebrations ensued for the elected candidates, their happiness clear as day. Nevertheless, it was imperative to acknowledge the students who did not secure a spot on the council; their voices remain invaluable! 

Now, standing on the precipice of a new chapter, this role is a responsibility to be fulfilled with utmost sincerity and dedication—the unwritten pages ahead present opportunities for positive change.
