In observance of the Mentan observance of Mental Health and Wellbeing Month, several engagements were organised for both students and teachers. A group of dedicated students – Saira Dua, Anoushka Jolly, Anuva Garodia, Nimeesha Chona, Advika Rana and Nyra Singh shed light on the importance of mental health and ways to combat the stigma surrounding it by using visually appealing and thought-provoking posters. The posters aimed to highlight common mental health conditions and various coping strategies. The topics that are relatable to the group like sleep hygiene, procrastination, self-image, substance use and abuse and family disturbances were insightfully chosen after collecting data from their peers on the common concerns faced by most of them.
The school in association with UnTaboo also organised a Sex education session for DP2 students. Sex education plays a pivotal role in equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being. For grade 12 students, who are on the cusp of adulthood, comprehensive sex education is particularly important to make them aware of safe sex practices, building healthy relationships, strengthening body positivity, sexual wellness and emotional wellbeing.
Ms. Anjali Dubey, an expert speaker on the topic conducted a session for DP 2 students. She in association with UnTaboo planned a sex education module with videos and informative content to strengthen awareness and encourage students to make informed decisions and enhance sexual health and wellbeing.
WHO on this year’s World Mental Health day on October 10th highlighted the vital connection between mental health and work.
On this Mental Health Day, DPCP counsellor organized an appreciation circle time followed by some fun activities all through the day. Teachers enjoyed the opportunities of trying something new and interesting while interacting with each other.
The moments to reflect provided them with time to take steps on practicing self-care and enhance their wellness at work. The fun activities like clicking their candid pictures, twinning with a partner, reminiscing on their childhood and acting out famous movie dialogues, were opportunities for them to appreciate each other, enhance their positive outlook towards life’s challenges, build self-image and take pride in their individual journeys. Each and every one cherished these moments by participating actively, felt motivated and shared that creation of such a space gave them time to connect, feel the sense of community, express gratitude towards each other and enhance their workplace wellbeing.
